Alison has maintained the beauty of those stunning pieces, while adding her own touches to personalise and update them. Palampore designs are a traditional type of hand painted and mordant-dyed bed covers made in India for the export market during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Only the wealthiest could afford to buy Palampores, and so the very few examples that have survived are very valuable today. Printed on non-woven, uncoated, paste-the-wall wallpaper.
