Monkey Palampore Wallpaper
A large-scale, statement design. Â Taking different elements from traditional palampores, and with the addition of playful monkeys and bird, this design is a magical new take on a centuries-old design. Â I hope to have maintained the beauty of those stunning pieces, whilst adding my own touches to personalise and update them. Â Palampore designs are a traditional type of hand painted and mordant-dyed bed covers made in India for the export market during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Â Only the wealthiest could afford to buy Palampores, and so the very few examples that have survived are very valuable today…..and now you can have one on your wall!
